In ancient Greek mythology, the titans are the gods of the second generation.

They are the children of Uranus (God of Sky) and Gaia (Goddess of Earth). There were 6 titans, their sisters (titanides) were also 6. They married each other and gave birth to a new generation of gods.

Ancient Greek mythology about the titans

sons uranium and gay: Ocean, Coy, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus and Kronos. The daughters of Uranus and Gaia: Theia, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe and Tethys.
The most famous of them were Hyperion and Theia.
Titan Hyperion is the father of Helios (god of the Sun), Selene (goddess of the Moon) and Eos (goddess of the Dawn). Sometimes Hyperion is identified with Helios (including Homer).
Titanide Theia- the eldest daughter of Uranus and Gaia.
possessed power over the world stream, washing the earth and the sea, giving rise to all rivers, springs, sea currents. Shelter of the sun, moon and stars.

Ocean Statue
Author: I, QuartierLatin1968, from Wikipedia
The ocean is known for its peacefulness and kindness, respected by other gods. The ocean washes the border between the world of life and death, where is the entrance to the underworld. By its waters the horse Pegasus was born.
Pegasus(stormy current) in ancient Greek mythology - a winged horse, a favorite of the muses. He flew with the speed of the wind, with a blow of a hoof on the ground he could knock out sources. Subsequently, Pegasus delivered thunder and lightning to Zeus on Olympus from Hephaestus, who made them.

Pegasus on the Opera House in Poznan (Poland)
- the wife of her brother Ocean, with whom she gave birth to 3 thousand sons - river streams and 3 thousand daughters - oceanids.

Tethys (ancient Roman mosaic)
- the brother and husband of the Titanides Phoebe, who gave birth to Leto and Asteria. Kay participated in the Titanomachy and was thrown into Tartarus by Zeus with his brothers.
Titanomachy- wars of the titans, the battle of the Olympian gods with the titans, which lasted for 10 years in Thessaly between two camps of deities long before the existence of the human race. The Olympians won the victory with the help of the Cyclopes and the Hecatoncheires.

Peter Paul Rubens "The Fall of the Titans" Royal Museums of Fine Arts (Brussels).
Kay is the god-embodiment of the celestial axis, around which the clouds rotate and Helios (the Sun) and Selene (the Moon) walk through the heavens.
Titan Kronos- the youngest son of the first god Uranus and the goddess Gaia. Initially, he was considered the god of agriculture, and later, in the Hellenistic period, he was identified with the god of time, Chronos. He was the ruler of Olympus, and then overthrown and imprisoned in Tartarus.

P. Rubens "Saturn"
According to ancient Greek mythology, Uranus, fearing to die from one of his children, returned them again to the bowels of the earth. Therefore, Gaia persuaded Kronos, who was born last, to castrate Uranus. Kronos did this and became the supreme god.

D. Vasari and J. Christofano "Colverization of Uranus by Kron" (XVI century)
With him came the golden age. Kronos was afraid of the prediction of Uranus, according to which one of his children born to him by Rhea would overthrow him, and therefore swallowed them one by one. So he swallowed Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades and Poseidon. From the union of Kronos with the nymph Filira (which he later, fearing the jealousy of Rhea, turned into a mare), a centaur was born Chiron.

Chiron teaching Achilles to play the lyre

Unlike most of the other centaurs, who were famous for their rampage, propensity to drink and hostility to people, Chiron was wise and kind. He lived on Mount Pelion. He was a student of Apollo and Artemis, he himself taught many heroes: Jason (for whose journey he made the first celestial globe), as well as Dioscuri, Achilles, whom he fed with lion meat, possibly Orpheus and others. He taught the medical art of Asclepius and Patroclus, the art of hunting - Actaeon.
Rhea, pregnant with Zeus, not wanting to lose her last child, gave birth to him in a deep cave in Crete and hid him there, and gave Kronos a stone to swallow. When Kronos realized that he had been deceived, he began to look for Zeus all over the earth, but could not find him. The grown Zeus started a war with his father. After a ten-year war, Kronos was overthrown by Zeus and imprisoned in Tartarus (the deepest abyss under the kingdom of Hades).
But first, Zeus freed brothers and sisters from the womb of Kronos, forcing Kronos to vomit the children he had swallowed, and reigned over the world, making his brothers and sisters the Olympic gods ( Hestia- Goddess of the hearth Heru- the wife and queen of the gods, Demeter- goddess of fields and fertility, Aida- the god of the underworld of the dead and Poseidon- the god of the seas).
When Kronos castrated Uranus with a sickle, furies and giants were born from the blood of Uranus. Furies in ancient Roman mythology - the goddess of revenge (in ancient Greek mythology, they correspond erinyam).

Adolphe William Bouguereau, The Repentance of Orestes, or Orestes Persecuted by the Erinies (1862). Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, Virginia
Author: unknown, from Wikipedia
In later myths, titans are identified with giants.
The Titans were archaic deities whose veneration dates back to an era remote even for the ancient Greeks themselves. All together, the titans, most likely, were the personification of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, i.e. uncontrollable natural forces, and were defeated by the Olympian gods, who defended peace and order. The sons of the first titans were also called titans - Atlanta, Prometheus and Helios.

cyclops

According to ancient Greek mythology, the children of Uranus and Gaia, along with the Titans, were the Cyclopes. Cyclops (Cyclops)- divine beings (or a separate people) - three one-eyed giants: Arg("Shining"), Bront("Thunder") and Sterop("Glittering").
Immediately after the birth, the Cyclopes were tied up and thrown by their father into Tartarus. They were freed by the titans after the overthrow of Uranus, but again chained by Kronos.
When Zeus began a struggle with Kronos for power, he, on the advice of their mother Gaia, brought the Cyclopes out of Tartarus to come to the aid of the Olympian gods in the war against the titans. The Cyclopes forged thunderbolts (thunder and lightning) for Zeus, which he threw into the titans. They forged a helmet for Hades, a trident for Poseidon, taught Hephaestus and Athena crafts.
After the war of the titans ended, the Cyclopes continued to serve Zeus - to forge the weapons of the Thunderer.

D. Flaxman "Odysseus and the Cyclops Polyphemus"
The Cyclopes were interrupted by Apollo after Zeus struck the son of Apollo Asclepius with a thunderbolt (and it was the Cyclopes who forged this thunderbolt). Their place in the forge of Peruns was taken by Hephaestus.

Polyphemus
Author: Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein, from Wikipedia
According to one version, reflected by Homer in the Odyssey, the Cyclopes made up a whole people. Among them, the most famous ferocious son of Poseidon Polyphemus, which Odysseus deprived of a single eye.
The Scythian people of the Arimaspians were also considered one-eyed.
Where did the myth of the Cyclops come from?
Paleontologist Otenio Abel in 1914 suggested that dwarf elephants existed in antiquity (their skulls were found), the central nasal opening in the skull of an elephant could be mistaken for a giant eye socket. These elephants were found precisely on the Mediterranean islands of Cyprus, Malta, Crete, Sicily, Sardinia, the Cyclades and the Dodecanese.

Hecatoncheires

Hecatoncheires(from other Greek “hundred, hundred” and “hand”) - 100-handed and 50-headed giants, the personification of the elements, according to Hesiod, the sons of the god Uranus and the goddess Gaia: Briareus(Aegeon), Kott and Gies. Immediately after their birth, Uranus shackled them and plunged them into the bowels of the Earth, and Zeus freed them for the war with the titans. During the titanomachy of the hekatoncheirs, they were called to help by the Olympian gods, and they opposed the titans, bringing victory to the gods.
Later they guard the titans in Tartarus. Most likely, in fact, these were people who lived in the city of Storuchie in Chaonia.

Attention!

Sites and blogs have appeared on the Internet that are not our official sites, but use our name. Be careful. Fraudsters use our name, our email addresses for their mailing lists, information from our books and our websites. Using our name, they drag people into various magical forums and deceive (give advice and recommendations that can harm, or lure out money for magical rituals, making amulets and teaching magic).

On our sites, we do not provide links to magical forums or sites of magical healers. We do not participate in any forums. We do not give consultations by phone, we do not have time for this.

Note! We are not engaged in healing and magic, we do not make or sell talismans and amulets. We do not engage in magical and healing practices at all, we have not offered and do not offer such services.

The only direction of our work is correspondence consultations in writing, training through an esoteric club and writing books.

Sometimes people write to us that on some sites they saw information that we allegedly deceived someone - they took money for healing sessions or making amulets. We officially declare that this is slander, not true. In all our lives, we have never deceived anyone. On the pages of our site, in the materials of the club, we always write that you need to be an honest decent person. For us, an honest name is not an empty phrase.

People who write slander about us are guided by the basest motives - envy, greed, they have black souls. The time has come when slander pays well. Now many are ready to sell their homeland for three kopecks, and it is even easier to engage in slandering decent people. People who write slander do not understand that they are seriously worsening their karma, worsening their fate and the fate of their loved ones. It is pointless to talk with such people about conscience, about faith in God. They do not believe in God, because a believer will never make a deal with his conscience, he will never engage in deceit, slander, and fraud.

There are a lot of scammers, pseudo-magicians, charlatans, envious people, people without conscience and honor, hungry for money. The police and other regulatory agencies are not yet able to cope with the increasing influx of "Cheat for profit" insanity.

So please be careful!

Sincerely, Oleg and Valentina Svetovid

"... And then, dividing

A bed with Uranus, the ocean gave birth to a deep one,

After all of them was born, among children the most terrible,

For for a long time they fought against each other

In fierce, mighty battles, with tension that hurts the soul,

All givers of blessings - from the peaks of the snowy Olympus.

Anger that hurts the soul, burning to each other,

For ten years they have been fighting among themselves continuously,

And the resolution of a heavy enmity or its ending

It did not come, and there was no end in sight between the internecine.

"Listen, glorious children born of Gaia with Uranus!

I will say the word, which soul ordered me in my chest.

For a very long time, fighting against each other,

We fight all these days continuously for power and victory, -

So he said. And approved the word, having heard it,

Gods, givers of blessings. And their souls desired war

Even hotter than before. Killing fight initiated

All of them on the same day - men, as well as wives, -

Fifty heads rose from strong bodies.

Three hundred stones from their mighty hands flew into titans

Quickly one after another, and in their flight they shaded

They are the bright sun. And titans brothers sent

Into the bowels of the wide-road land and imposed upon them

Heavy bonds, with the mighty hands of defeating the arrogant.

They dropped them underground as deep as far to the sky,

For so far from us is the many-gloomy Tartarus:

If, taking a copper anvil, throw it from the sky,

In nine days and nights she would fly to the earth;

If, taking a copper anvil, throw it from the ground,

In nine days and nights, weight would fly to Tartarus.

Tartarus is surrounded by a copper fence. in three rows
