Even if you haven't played Minecraft, you probably have a child, acquaintance, or online friend who is obsessed with this creative building game.
From the very beginning, Minecraft players have been divided into two camps: those who simply enjoy exploring the vast in-game world, and those who create monumental works of art and build mechanisms that fascinate everyone around them.
Some people prefer to build in survival mode, where each block must be mined, processed and placed manually. Others prefer the absolute freedom of creative mode, where any material can be taken from the inventory in any quantity in a matter of seconds. Of course, buildings in different modes require different amounts of time, effort and creativity, and we took this into account when compiling our list.
There's everything from striking buildings to pixel art and unusual gadgets. Some of them were made using mods, some were made using an unmodified version of Minecraft. But they are all testament to the enormity of the most successful indie game of all time.
1. Ancient metropolis
The Golden City is set on a server (we're assuming Creative Mode) where players are greeted with incredibly intricate architecture. Spiers, temples, fountains and even hot air balloons decorate this ancient cityscape.
2. King's Landing (Game of Thrones)
Do you hear this sound? This is the brains of all Minecrafters exploding after they saw THIS.
THIS is the main city in Game of Thrones, completely transferred to Minecraft. A full album of screenshots of this map is guaranteed to blow your mind. The authors intend to completely recreate the world of A Song of Ice and Fire. You can track progress and download updated versions of the map on a special website.
3. Space shuttle
Houston will have no problem with this monument to the era of space exploration.
4. Dome over bedrock
Two players caught the attention of Reddit users when they managed to dig a huge hole that extends right down to the bedrock layer (the lowest point in the Minecraft world) and build a huge glass dome around it. It's certainly not an architectural masterpiece, but it was created in survival mode, which means the creators had to mine and place each block by hand.
5. One block - one inch of my bedroom
This strange, inelegant creation is actually quite impressive. This is a real-life model of the player's bedroom, with windows, a desk, a closet, a computer - and even a tangled tangle of wires against the wall.

9. Minas Tirith (Lord of the Rings)
The epic battle scene from The Return of the King has been recreated with meticulous verisimilitude down to the last detail. It looks even more colorful in the renders.
10. Freeway
Not everyone is cut out to be an architect. Sometimes you just have to dig. In one direction. For two months.
Line the resulting path (8 in-game miles long) with rails and set off on a trolley journey. For half an hour you will drive through the generated landscapes, but later this entire trip can be compressed into a three-minute video.
The builder of this makeshift freeway used minecart mods and changed some textures, but it's still a big achievement. He even managed to attract the attention of Minecraft creator Markus Persson when the game was in early development.

This player built an entire apartment on a huge scale. Don't forget that one block is one cubic meter, so the refrigerator here is as tall as a skyscraper.

How to build a beautiful house in Minecraft
For construction you will need:
- Black concrete;
- Gray concrete;
- White concrete;
- Oak planks;
- Birch boards;
- Dark oak boards;
- Glass blocks;
- Glass panels;
- Oak leaves (or any other);
- Birch steps;
- Buckets of water;
- Dark oak door.
How to build
- To begin, make a rectangle (future pool) of black concrete five by seven blocks wide. Then dig through 2 layers of soil and cover everything on the bottom layer with oak boards.
Start of construction of the foundation of the starter home
- Next, place eight blocks of white concrete along the edges of the pool. After this, make a strip with a total length of 21 blocks. Do this on both sides and connect them together. Next, make a figure from black concrete, as shown in the screenshot.
At the beginning I had a small jamb, I made one more block. Don't pay attention to this, I'll fix it later
- Then make windows 6 blocks long and 5 blocks high. After that, connect them the same way as in the screenshot. Also build blocks on the sides. On the side where the pool is, increase it by two blocks, and on the opposite side by one.
- On the back side, increase the length of the wall by two blocks. Then step back four blocks and seal the wall completely. Then step back one block and make two passes opposite each other.
- Next, make a crossbar from the back side, stepping back one block. Then also on the front, just step back three blocks.
- On the front side, make the ceiling five blocks long (not counting the crossbar). Do the same on the bottom side.
- On the front side you need to make a rectangle three by four long. Fill it with water. In the pool, you can also fill everything with water so that there is an endless source.
- Next, start sealing the front openings with glass panels and the side openings with glass blocks.
- Then make a line of oak boards 9 blocks long at the top, near the waterfall, so that two extend beyond the wall. Then make a design like this. Make the columns five blocks high (not counting the construction line).
- On the front side, make windows measuring nine by six blocks.
- Make a large frame at the back, dividing it into two parts. You seal the bottom with oak boards so that there are no gaps.
- From the front side you make the following frame:
- Cover the window openings with glass panels along the entire perimeter. Make a roof on the top (no need to make a new layer, just start making the roof at the end of the top line of windows).
- Cover the floor of the second floor with dark oak boards.
- Next, at the end of the room (to the right relative to the front side), make a full-width “hedge” of oak leaves, two blocks high. Then make a line of 6 oak planks. At the bottom, make a staircase two blocks wide. After this, make a railing from glass panels so that at the end there is an opening of one block.

Your friends can live in such a cozy house, in any number starting from two people. The house is very easy to build; if you wish, you can build it from any material. This house with two floors can be considered small compared to other buildings that your friends can build, the materials for this house do not require much and they can be easily obtained and made.
How to learn to build beautiful houses in Minecraft
You don’t need to know a lot to build beautiful houses. It is important to know the following:
- First, come up with a plan for your future construction. You can draw it on a piece of checkered paper.
- Don't build simple boxes. Make a corner house or other non-standard shape. To do this, combine several boxes into one design and start improving it. You can make columns from oak or any other wood, and leave the wooden blocks themselves in the background. Basically, start creating;
