The basis for the sand coating is a 5-7 cm layer of granite screenings, covered with a geogrid. The layer is from 2 to 10 cm;
- bark- not a very common material for covering playgrounds, but still found. Bark is a natural material that does not stick to clothes and shoes and softens falls well, but cleaning the area will be difficult. The durability of the coating is limited to 2-3 years, but the bark is inexpensive. To equip such a site, you need to dig a hole about 20 cm deep, cover it with geotextiles, cover it with 15 cm of sand, lay down geotextiles again, and then pour a 5 cm layer of bark;
- artificial turf devoid of many of the shortcomings characteristic of previous materials. This is a rolled material on an elastic basis, the coating of which quite accurately imitates natural grass stems. It is easy to lay it with your own hands, its care is minimal, it does not trample, has a soft surface, allows water to pass through, is durable, all-season, wear-resistant, does not stain clothes, but is expensive and does not soften impacts as well as grass or sand. The artificial lawn is laid on a concrete base, and when choosing a covering, take into account the height and thickness of the blades of grass, as well as the density of the covering, because artificial stems should not impede the child’s movements;
- - one of the most modern options. The material is absolutely safe for children, springy, softens falls, does not get dirty, is easy to clean, allows water to pass through and dries quickly. The tiles are available in different colors and even with funny designs - an excellent solution for a children's playground. Football goals, basketball hoops, slides, cars, trains, figures of popular cartoon characters - this is an incomplete list of elements that can be built on your site. The choice depends on several things: the desire to do this, capabilities and skills, and the availability of materials.

Place for the site
It is better to choose a place that will be at least partially in the shade throughout the day. Then children can play at any time without the risk of sunstroke. There should not be any potentially dangerous objects or structures nearby - a well, a barbed fence, a garbage dump.

- We connect the sides with nails or screws, as shown in the figure. The bars at the corners should be 15–25 cm longer than the sides. This is necessary to dig them into the ground for the stability of the sandbox.
The sides of the sandbox are made from planed boards - their smooth surface guarantees the safety of the child while playing.
- We install it in the right place and attach the benches.
Benches for sitting are attached to self-tapping screws, while the heads of the screws are deepened into the boards as much as possible
- We fill in the sifted sand, treat the boards with an anti-rotting agent - and the sandbox is ready.

There is a more complex option with a transforming lid. If you have at least some carpentry skills, you can try to implement it. The lid will protect the sand from precipitation and animals so that they do not use the sandbox as a toilet. When open, the lid turns into two benches.

- Connecting boards into a box using self-tapping screws and a screwdriver.

How to make a swing
The simplest swing can be made like this:
- We make the seat from wood or a car tire.
- We tie ropes or belts to the seat as follows: sew a loop at the end of the belt, then wrap the belt with the loop around the tire. We pass the long end of the belt through the loop and tighten it. Having attached three straps in this way, we hang the swing from a tree branch.
Making a swing seat from a car tire and belts will not require large material costs.
- If there is a large tree growing on the site, you can tie a swing to it.

How to make a children's slide
Construction of a children's slide will require certain skills.
- We make a slide frame from timber with a ladder made from wooden cuttings. We drive metal pipes into the lower section of the frame, treated with wood oil (for exterior use), and dig these pipes into the ground.
- We attach the frame to a horizontal platform made of boards using self-tapping screws and a screwdriver.
- We make the floor frame from bars. We fasten the bars using metal corners. We align the frame to the building level.
- To stabilize the frame, we attach metal corners to the posts, which we drive into the ground with a hammer and mallet, then screw them to the posts with self-tapping screws.
- We install pegs in the ground that will hold the slide, having previously lubricated them with wood oil (for outdoor work).
- We lay floors made of tongue and groove boards, aligning them along the edges.
- We install the slide and fasten it to furniture screws.
- We attach a bar with a handle above the slide, which the child can hold on to before sliding down.
- And the last stage - we attach the railings - a safety fence around the entire perimeter of the slide.
