DIY children's playground made from scrap materials. We create a paradise for a child in the country - we arrange a playground with our own hands

A place with carousels, a sandbox and toys is not just a decoration for the site, but a whole world - children's; DIY playground, photo which you will see below or in the courtyard of a multi-storey building, or on your own summer cottage will be a gift not only for all the children, but also for their parents, because it will be safe, comfortable and cozy. All the best for children!

DIY playground ideas

On the list DIY playground ideas you can see things that are familiar to us since childhood. The main task is to make each element in such a way as to skillfully combine a safe stay on them so that children find this safety interesting. We will perceive the playground as a collection of the most necessary, favorite entertainment for children.

The first thing to start construction with is allocating the area itself for construction. Yes, you can just put up attractions, but remember that in order for them to last a long time and delight the kids, they must be stable and durable, which means it won’t work without leveling the landscape. The construction of this place can be approached as if it were a construction project - level the soil, fill it with crushed stone and concrete it. But then you will need to either cover the entire surface with some safe material, non-slip and not hard, for example, a rubber coating. But it is much better to use an existing lawn or build it using roll technology. On do-it-yourself children's playground in the country both in design and in the range of entertainment, it is limited only by your imagination. It is better to choose a place on the leeward side, so that under no circumstances is there a so-called air corridor or draft. It will also be important if there is shade in the area during the daytime heat; if there is no shade from the house or garden, then you need to organize awnings and awnings.

The main element and component will be the sandbox. It will be interesting to play with both very young children and older ones. Of course, it would be superfluous to talk about the quality of the sand, and it is clear that it must be absolutely clean and sifted, but this cleanliness must be maintained. Therefore, when you put together a structure from wood, provide a lid with which you can cover all this sandy wealth. As a cover, you can use a mesh, a flexible cover from an inflatable pool, etc. This is important to use for do-it-yourself kindergarten decorations. It is also very important to have wide sides, which will be used as benches, as well as for sculpting beads. For convenience, build a roof high above the sandbox, which will allow you to play even in bad weather or bright sun.

Swings and carousels can be ordered ready-made; today there are a huge number of companies that specialize in installation and manufacturing do-it-yourself kindergarten playgrounds. However, you can make some of the types yourself. It will not be difficult to build balance beams - a swing on which two children ride, taking turns soaring up and then falling down. It is necessary to calculate the maximum load and, based on it, select options for materials and fastenings. You need to make holders and backs at the ends of the board so that the kids feel safe. It is important to make hanging swings from materials that children cannot injure themselves on; ropes and rubber would be optimal (the household version is a rubber tire, not very large in size).

Other traditional items that are often used include mini exercise machines of various types. This is very important, since they are the ones who help to spend at least a little of the children’s irrepressible energy. If you can’t make horizontal bars, you can dig car tires halfway into the ground so that there is enough space between them to jump over. You can also organize an unusual Swedish wall from rope ropes, intertwining them like a net. Be sure to consider a system of soft mats under it with a coating that will not be afraid of moisture. If you have older children, and there are a sufficient number of trees on the site or in the yard, then it is possible to organize a miniature rope park with a set of boards, ropes, and ladders.

Make a playground with your own hands

In order to make a playground with your own hands not only a place for games, but also for quality child development, you can use the same furniture as when developing.

The table is necessary for creative work: drawing, sculpting, appliqué, creating crafts. DIY playground You can’t do without such a structure, whether you are making it for one or two children or for children from the whole yard. But an ordinary table according to standard drawings is not always suitable. If you want to achieve maximum safety and comfort, you can make the tabletop in the shape of a four-leaf clover, and make a small bench in each of the four recesses. Wood is a good material for such furniture, but it will need to be coated with a large amount of furniture varnish to avoid damage from snow and rain. Plastic is better, but it will be problematic to make something out of it yourself. You can organize master classes at such a round table, for example, teach kids,...

On DIY playground, photo which you see, it is the house that occupies the central place. The inside does not have to be empty; you can put benches there for children to play in the hospital, benches to place a counter or a cash register for playing at the store.

DIY playground: photo

There is no doubt about the need to equip a playground on a personal plot. Difficulties arise only in the process of creating a project with your own hands, selecting material and place in conditions of its shortage. However, if you listen to the advice of experts, this stage of construction of a playground will be easy. And it is not necessary to buy expensive building materials; the site can be equipped using available materials.

What should be on the playground for children

Traditional elements of the playground are:

  • slide;
  • sandbox;
  • swing;
  • fungus.

Some of these elements can be combined and form a full-fledged gaming complex. In addition, the site may have:

  • decorative elements that will help in aesthetic education (they can be made from scrap materials, for example, such popular swans made from tires);
  • a bathing container (it doesn’t have to be a swimming pool; a small bath is enough for kids);
  • sports complex with ropes and hanging ladders;
  • hut or tent;
  • maze and much more.

All this depends only on your imagination and the ability to turn your ideas into reality.

Project preparation

The planning process plays an important role in creating a playground because it allows you to decide many important issues.

Selecting a location

It is very important to follow safety rules during the construction of a playground. This also applies to the choice of place where it will be located. In this case, you need to follow the basic rules:

Particular attention should be paid to the covering of the playground. It should be as soft as possible, because children are not immune from falls. The coating must dry quickly, since high humidity negatively affects the child’s health. It is recommended to use a special rubber coating that meets all requirements, but is quite expensive.

Photo gallery: zone layout diagrams

The layout of objects on the site does not have to be detailed with dimensions indicated On the diagram you need to indicate where and which element will be located The diagram may be a detailed drawing There is no need to indicate the projectile sizes on the diagram. The playground layout can be three-dimensional

Dimensions

Before deciding what should be on your playground, it is recommended to decide on its size. They depend on the age of the kids. As a rule, children under the age of 7 need a space of about 9 m2 to play. With age, it is recommended to increase the site (this possibility must be taken into account when planning).

Remember that the equipment and their size must be appropriate for the age of the children who will spend time on this site.

Remember about the so-called safety zones. By default they should be equal to 1 m. However, there are small exceptions to this rule. For example, the safety zone for rolling out of a slide should be at least 1.5 m on all sides. The carousel has a similar area.

Suitable materials

Absolutely any materials, even improvised ones (plastic bottles, tires), are suitable for arranging a playground on a personal plot. However, for key structures such as a slide and swing, it is recommended to use only high-quality material, since in this case we are talking about the safety of the child.

For the playground you can take:

  1. Tree. Preferably coniferous species. In this case, you need to ensure that there are no knots, rot or mold, or other signs of damage to the wood. Before assembling the structures, all wooden parts must be carefully treated with a special water-repellent agent.
  2. Metal. It is recommended to make all fastening elements and parts of power equipment, for example, a horizontal bar, from this material.

It is undesirable to have plastic products on the playground, since it is short-lived; literally after two years of use, microcracks appear on its surface, which make this product unhygienic and therefore unsafe. The same applies to stones. They should not be on the playground. Even if you need to build a border, then for this purpose it is better to take soft materials, ideally make them from plants.

Construction of a children's playground at the dacha with your own hands from improvised means and materials

Construction of a children's playground on a personal plot will not be a difficult job if you follow the step-by-step instructions.

DIY sandbox

Making this element of the playground is not at all difficult; just follow a pre-drawn plan:

  1. Prepare 10 thick boards 1.8 m long.
  2. At the place where the sandbox will be located, remove the top layer of soil (20–25 cm). Make a small indentation in the center. It is necessary to pour drainage material over the entire area, which can be pebbles or crushed stone.
  3. Cut grooves along the edges of the boards (two boards are needed on one side), thanks to which they will be attached to each other. For fixation, you can use small bars (about 30 cm long).
  4. The two remaining boards will act as benches. Therefore, they need to be attached flat.
  5. At the end, the sandbox needs to be painted in any color.

How to make a swing

For load-bearing supports, it is necessary to prepare 6 beams with a cross-section of 5x5 cm. Further work should be carried out in the following order:

  1. Tighten the posts with bolts on both sides of the future swing.
  2. Connect them from above with a beam, and it is recommended to prepare the nests for this in advance.
  3. You can make a ladder on the side, which will serve as an excellent sports equipment for outdoor games.

House made of plastic bottles

This house looks very unusual. And the children themselves can be involved in the creation process.

First you need to make a metal or wooden frame, and then “sheath it” with plastic bottles, which can be fixed with a strong string. In this case, the material must be laid vertically.

- the manufacturing company offers children's play complexes, playgrounds, outdoor sports equipment for children and adults, as well as small architectural forms (MAFs) for local areas and summer cottages.

In the summer, most parents try to take their children out of dusty, polluted cities into nature. If you spend the summer months at the dacha with your children, then you need to make sure that their summer vacation is not only beneficial for them, but also enjoyable. To prevent your child from getting bored at the dacha, make a playground for him with your own hands. This will require very small financial investments plus your time and imagination. Be sure to involve the children themselves in creating the playground. Firstly, joint work helps to unite the family and strengthen the relationship between parents and children, and, secondly, designing a playground is a creative activity that will be useful for the overall development of the child.

Any child will prefer natural materials (for example, wood) to artificial plastic when playing. Therefore, we will focus on creating crafts for the playground from natural materials.

The required components of any children's playground are as follows:

Sandbox
- water
- green spaces
- children's playhouse (tent, awning)
- swing
- natural materials for play (gravel, stones, tree cuts, cones, twigs, plants, etc.)

1. DIY playground. DIY sandbox

All children get a lot of joy and pleasure when playing with sand. Playing with sand provides unlimited opportunities for a child's development. You can make Easter cakes from sand, build castles and tunnels, cook “soup” for dolls, and it can be transported in cars. Another fun thing to do is bury various objects in the sand and then dig them up. You can sprinkle dry sand on the beetle, and then watch how it gets out of it. It is interesting to draw pictures and write letters on damp sand.

Making a children's sandbox with your own hands is not at all difficult. First of all, you need to choose a suitable place for it. The sandbox should not be in the sun, but at the same time, a too dark, damp place is not suitable for it. If the child is still small, the sandbox should be near the house so that the baby is always in your sight.

You can fence off the sandbox using logs, stumps, and boards. If the sandbox is large enough, you can divide it into several play areas (see photo below).

To protect from the sun, you can make a canopy.

2. Children's playgrounds for the dacha. Swimming pools

Just like with sand, children only like to play with water. The best option is to combine games with water and sand. Make sure that your child always has a source of water near the sandbox. Even a small bowl of water will be enough.

Of course, any child will be delighted to have a pool at their dacha.

Another good fun is to spray each other with water from a hose on a hot summer day. Or you can ask your dad or grandfather to make an outdoor shower from PVC pipes.

3. Children's playgrounds. Children's playgrounds photo

When creating a playground with your own hands, you cannot do without all kinds of logs, stumps, tree cuts, and boards. You can make tables and chairs from stumps and surround the sandbox with them. Stumps and logs can be used as sports equipment: it is useful for children to learn to walk on them while maintaining balance. The tree cuts will make a nice path.

A child's imagination can turn a simple log into a bridge spanning an abyss, into an airplane, a car, a horse, etc. Such games with object replacement are very useful for developing children's creative thinking.

4. Decoration of the playground. DIY playground photo

A prerequisite for a good playground is the presence of greenery: trees, shrubs, grass, flowers.

Large trees provide protection from the sun on a hot summer day. They are fun to climb.

Sometimes trees have to be removed for various reasons. However, you should not cut down the tree at the very root - turn it into an interesting decorative element - a fairy-tale “house”. See link >>>>

The base of large trees is the best place to create fairy houses. Making such a fairy-tale house from any available material will be interesting for every little girl.

Read about how to make furniture for dolls from twigs in the article “Crafts from tree branches with your own hands” >>>>

Be sure to help your child make his own flowerbed, which he will take care of on his own.

Even if you yourself prefer not to plant anything in your dacha, make sure that your child has his own small garden. Just a couple of beds where he can grow unpretentious and tasty plants, for example, green peas.

5. Crafts for the playground. Decorating a playground with your own hands

Decorating children's playgrounds is an interesting and creative activity. Handmade crafts made from wood, tires and plastic bottles are suitable for decorating a children's playground. Here are some ideas for decorating a playground with your own hands. Be sure to involve children in the process of creating crafts for the playground.

6. How to make a playground. Playground ideas

When creating a playground with your own hands, be sure to give your child a secluded corner where he can be alone or in the company of his friends, dream, play, read, and finally take a break from you, the adults. This could be a purchased children's playhouse or tent. Or you can make a children's house (tent, pavilion) with your own hands. Here are some interesting ideas.

The easiest way to make a children's house with your own hands is to stretch a rope between two trees, pillars, between a tree and a fence (see photo below) and throw a thin blanket over it. The ends of the blanket must be tied with ropes to pegs driven into the ground, or pressed with stones.

Using the same principle, you can “grow” a children’s house from sunflowers. Sunflowers are a good plant to grow with children. They have large seeds, grow quickly and are very unpretentious. Plant sunflowers around the perimeter of the circle at a distance of 10 cm from each other. When they grow to 1.5 meters, collect their tops and tie them together - your sunflower house is ready! Yes, don’t forget to leave room for entry when planting!

7. DIY playground. Children's playground made of wood

As we already mentioned at the beginning of the article, be sure to make sure that the child has natural materials available for play: sand, water, large stones, small stones, twigs, pine cones, plants. Games with natural materials are of great importance for the development of sensory perception, motor skills, creative thinking of the child, and have a beneficial effect on the physical and mental health of children.

An important component of open areas is a children's playground. It turns out that you can build an entire town for a child with your own hands from scrap materials. And it will have houses, swings, sandboxes, artificial ponds, and sports equipment. This article will tell you how to build such a playground with your own hands.

Houses made of cardboard and fabric in five minutes

If you make a playground with your own hands and are still in the process of construction, then you can whip up a cardboard “dwelling.” Surely almost every family has large boxes for refrigerators, home theaters or washing machines. With a little imagination and taking tape in their hands, adults can turn unnecessary trash into a creative house for their children and their neighbors, because playing alone is not always fun.

A children's playground, created with your own hands from scrap materials, can turn into a fairy-tale town if adults try to build houses for the kids, similar to those described by Nikolai Nosov in the book about shorties. With roofs painted in the shape of cups of flowers, berries, fruits and mushrooms, the miniature dwellings will delight the eye, turning the site into a fantastic relaxation area for both children and adults.

You can do without cardboard by setting up a children's corner. It is enough to simply stretch bright fabric or oilcloth between vertically dug wooden piles. It is best to use plastic film instead of a roof on top so that it protects the inside of the house from rain.

Children's house made of boards or logs

If funds allow and you have some carpentry skills, you can build a wooden play house. The playground will benefit greatly from this! With your own hands it is not difficult to build a small building with windows, doors and a roof, with a veranda and a porch. Instead of boards, logs are quite suitable. But if you wish, you can even build a nice cozy hut out of firewood, fastening them together with cement mortar.

It is only important to follow all safety rules so that children, while playing, do not get hurt on protruding nails or twigs, do not fall through climbing onto the roof, or break limbs by falling out of windows.

Houses made from plastic bottles

Today there is a trend to reuse plastic containers. Bottles are very creatively used to decorate courtyards in cities, summer cottages, and playgrounds in kindergartens. With your own hands you can make a wonderful playhouse for children.

Bottles should be tied with strong twine, creating a wall panel or part of a fence. The frame of the building itself is made of wooden piles or metal pipes.

Sometimes craftsmen use cement mortar to fasten the eggplants together. Then the container is laid horizontally.

Swimming pool made of plastic bottles

The container can also be used for the construction of artificial reservoirs on the site. By fastening plastic bottles with cement, it is easy to build the walls of a miniature pool in this way. With a pond, the children's playground at the dacha will become the favorite place to stay for children and adults!

You can also build steps with your own hands, making them from natural stone or brick. Just make sure that everything is stable and there are no sharp edges or jagged edges.

The simplest body of water

In order for a children's playground in the country, equipped with your own hands, to have an artificial pond, it is not at all necessary to spend a lot of money. After all, you can get by with a piece of plastic film.

The dug hole is simply covered with waterproof material, which is secured along the edges with stones. Pour water into the pool and splash around to your health! Of course, such a reservoir can not be used for as long as with a cement foundation, but as a “quick-and-dry” pool option, it is suitable for many.

Near the pond you can install benches, a table, and an umbrella that protects from the sun. In this case, adults can also relax here, watching children play.

Swimming pool and sandbox made from car tires

A skilled craftsman manages to make “candy” out of any garbage. By using old tires you can create a wonderful DIY playground! Photo of the original sandbox, in the construction of which the baby himself takes part - only one option for their use.

If you cut off the inner bends of the tire, lay the bottom with film or fill it with cement, you can get a miniature pond. In the summer, when it’s hot, not only kids, but also adults can swim in it. However, you should remember that water quickly deteriorates in the warm season, so it needs to be changed quite often.

Running ladders made from tires

Parents usually actively participate in organizing children's leisure time. Many people help build playgrounds in kindergartens. With their own hands they make figures of swans, nesting dolls, crocodiles, Baba Yaga, and Smeshariki from old tires. A little imagination, a sharp knife, glue and paint - and as if by magic, old trash turns into a fairy-tale creature!

And if you use tires of different sizes, then by stacking them and firmly fastening them together, you can easily build a ladder for running.

An interesting version of the labyrinth. Then the tires are dug vertically into the ground. The kids happily run around the playground, crawling inside the rubber circles, climbing up, jumping off, playing catch-up. Some tires can be hung low above the ground. This will complicate the game, because it is quite difficult to get inside such an obstacle.

Furniture made from tires

It’s so nice to drink tea or even have lunch in nature. And kids will eat with much more appetite in nature. It is quite easy to equip a playground for these purposes with your own hands. The photo below shows how easy it is to make a table outside without the use of expensive building materials.

Craftsmen even manage to make chairs with armrests from tires and miniature sofas.

Sandbox in half an hour

The imagination of a skilled craftsman creates an amazing children's playground. You can make a sandbox with your own hands from scrap materials in half an hour, just a small amount of ordinary chopped or sawn firewood, glass or plastic bottles. The material, which in everyday life can be called trash, is used as a border or a miniature fence.

Sand is poured inside - that’s it, the sandbox is ready! You can add functionality by turning the sandbox fence into an obstacle course. For this purpose, all parts are made of different heights. Children, moving along such a curb, develop the ability to maintain balance. Tired of digging in the sand, they can easily change the type of activity, which is very useful for a growing organism.

Tire swings and carousels

Since you can make a playground with your own hands from scrap materials, practically reducing financial costs to zero, everything will be used, even old car wheels. Craftsmen use them to build original benches in recreation areas, imitating a car. And tires can make wonderful swings. You just need to choose a stronger tree, a strong enough rope and learn how to tie real sea knots, which will guarantee the safety of children. You can use metal chains or braided wire bundles.

A children's playground, created with your own hands from available materials, will not only be functional, but also beautiful if its design is consistent with the general style. To do this, the master must use bright colors and use various details. For example, carousel swings that imitate a motorcycle or ATV look creative.

Craftsmen resort to making swings in the form of animals, cutting them out of tires and connecting the parts with bolts. If you think of an option where the top part of the carousel can rotate, then the kids’ joy will know no bounds.

Rocking chairs made from scrap materials

To make a playground with your own hands from improvised means a favorite place to play for kids, you can equip it with rocking chairs. Half of a car tire is placed on the ground with its roundness down, and a board is bolted onto the cut.

Be sure to attach holders to the seat. They can be ordinary door handles or old wheels or bicycle handlebars.

Sculptures made from trash

Sculptures will help you create a unique design. The master chooses fairy-tale creatures or fantastic animals, aliens or cartoon characters as prototypes. The frame of the sculpture itself is made of wire, which is coated with clay, plaster or cement.

Since it was decided to make a playground with your own hands from scrap materials, bright small details are stuck on top of the figures: caps from yogurt or mineral water bottles, parts of broken toys, checkers and buttons. Scattered parts from the Lego constructor will also be used. Even fragments of dishes will become material for decorating the sculpture. However, you should be careful here: they need to be immersed deep enough in clay or cement so that the sharp edges cannot injure.

Old basins are easily transformed with paint into strange turtles. And the bowls, mounted on tree stumps, imitate giant mushrooms. Metal dishes laid out in the grass or along paths, painted red and covered with black circles, will become fantastic ladybugs.

And plastic bottles make cute piglets and hedgehogs, funny and amusing. Metal cans will help you build alien creatures that will also drive birds away from the site. After all, if you connect them in the form of beads mounted on a string, when the wind blows, the “arms” will sway, creating the effect of movement.

With the onset of the summer season, many parents try to make their children's leisure time as varied and beneficial for children's development as possible. And if there is an opportunity to get out with your children away from the confines of a polluted, dusty city, then you should definitely take advantage of this wonderful opportunity as often as possible.

If you have a dacha or a private plot outside the city (garden, vegetable garden), then you can organize an area there for entertaining children with a sandbox, swings, sports equipment and other objects. It is not at all necessary to order the construction of an expensive children's playground near your home. You can easily make a playground from scrap materials with your own hands. Plastic and wooden structures are the basis of any complex for spending time with young children. Anyone can find boards, logs, and plastic bottles at hand!
