Boil, stirring occasionally, for another 10 minutes. Add tomatoes and vinegar. boil for 10-15 minutes. Taste it - you can add herbs in the process - for an amateur - add some salt if something does not suit you (the taste should be sweet sour), you can add ground pepper. If zucchini is soft - we lay out the hot salad over the cans - we close them, turn them over and wrap them up until they cool completely, if not - cook a little over low heat.
   Output is somewhere around five liters.

Today it is very difficult to find a jar of this product, but many housewives remember its pleasant sweet-sour taste, decorated with pineapple aroma.

Converted Rice Inc. began its activities with the production of soon boiling rice called Uncle Ben`s. Then their range was replenished with various sauces, and the bright name was preserved. Well-built advertising allowed the mysterious sauce to spread throughout the world. Few people know that his recipe was borrowed by Americans in Asian cuisine.

Confirmation of the Asian origin of the sauce is its composition. In the original recipe of ankl bens we find such an exotic ingredient as bamboo shoots. Appetizing sweet-sour taste of gravy gives an organic combination of tomatoes and pineapples. It is difficult to find bamboo shoots in Russia for sale, so the housewives, who decided to repeat the dressing at home, adapted its composition to their capabilities.

Homemade recipe uncle bens


Most ketchups have a sweet-sour sound, but in ankl bens the sour note is compensated by the sweetness of bell pepper, pineapple and a decent amount of sugar. Since our recipe assumes the use of ready-made ketchup, choose a neutral look, without additional spices and spices. Perfect classic "Heinz" with a mild sweet-sour taste.

The list of ingredients will include:

  • classic ketchup "Heinz" - 400 grams;
  • carrots - 1 medium size;
  • canned pineapples (washers) - 1 bank;
  • sweet pepper - 1.5 pieces;
  • onion - 1 large head;
  • garlic - 1–2 lobules;
  • celery - 2 stalks;
  • wine vinegar - 5 tablespoons;
  • soy sauce - 2-3 tablespoons;
  • corn starch - 2 tablespoons;
  • chili pepper - half a pod;
  • lemon - half of the fruit;
  • sugar - 5–6 tablespoons;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

Cooking:

  1. All cooked vegetables should be cleaned, washed, cut into cubes of 0.5–1 cm. We also do the same with canned pineapples, leave the juice, we still need it. Put all the vegetables on separate plates.
  2. Garlic cloves are peeled and minced with a knife. Free half of the chili peppers from the seeds and chop finely.
  3. Starch should be filled with water (cold) and set aside.
  4. For roasting vegetables it is better to take a wok pan. If there is none in your household, use a conventional deep frying pan or a saucepan. Pouring vegetable oil into the pan and begin to fry each type of vegetables individually, spending about three minutes on each component.
  5. Roasted vegetables shift in a sieve, give the drain excess oil. Make sure that the amount of oil in the pan is not much diminished, add it as needed. Put the prepared vegetables in a deep plate.
  6. In a large ladle, we will fry our chopped garlic and chili pepper in a small amount of olive oil. The main thing is to prevent the appearance of brown in these two ingredients.
  7. Squeeze juice from a half lemon into a glass.
  8. We reduce the fire under the ladle, we report ketchup, wine vinegar, pineapple juice, soy sauce and lemon juice. Fall asleep sugar. All components are mixed, bring to a boil, lay the fried vegetables.
  9. Simmer on low heat for 2–3 minutes. We try. If it is sour or spicy, adjust the saturation with salt, pepper or sugar to your liking.

Using a similar set of products, replacing ketchup with fresh tomatoes, you can prepare an uncle bens for the winter. If you do not want to get too sour, buy sweet varieties of tomatoes and exclude lemon juice from the list. Adjustment is required only for the method of preparation. Vegetables, vegetable oil and salt will have to be stewed for half an hour. Then put vinegar and Bulgarian pepper in sweet and sour sauce, and put out another 20 minutes, pour it over the cans.
