Packaging for sweet New Year's gifts. Original packaging with quilling elements.

This master class consists of two main parts: making a box and design, which is made using the quilling technique. You can put sweets in such a box and give them to children.

You will need:

Thick paper

Round plate or CD (any round object) - the larger the circle you have, the larger the package.

Simple pencil

Scissors

Creasing tool (or something similar)

Bright ribbon

Paper strips for quilling (width approximately 0.5 cm and length 60 cm)

PVA glue

Quilling tool (can be replaced with a toothpick)

Glitter or something similar

1. Making a box

1.1 Prepare a sheet of thick paper and draw a circle on it. Draw two perpendicular diameters through the center of the circle.

1.2 Now through the indicated points A and B you need to draw another circle. In the new circle you also need to draw perpendicular diameters (see picture).

1.3 Use a plate or disk and a creasing tool to draw curves, cut and fold the paper along its contours.

1.4 Cut out the entire shape and bend along the curves.

1.5 Start folding the box.

2. We arrange the packaging

2.1 Using the quilling technique you need to make a bump. You will need half a brown paper strip and a third light brown. These strips need to be glued together.

2.2 For a cone you need to make a lot of scales - in this example from 18. This means that you need to make 18 strips as in paragraph 2.1. Start twisting the strips, starting with the one that is light brown.

2.3 Once you have a roll, you need to release it until its diameter is about 2 cm.

2.4 Make an “eye” shape from the roll (see picture). You've got a scale.

2.5 The middle of each scale needs to be squeezed out and immediately greased well from the inside with PVA glue. This way you will fix the volumetric part. Let the glue dry.

2.6 Glue 3 others around one scale. Next, glue the remaining scales in rows to form a cone.

2.7 To make a hat for a pine cone, you need to prepare three paper strips and glue them into one long strip. This long strip now needs to be rolled into a roll.

2.8 Thread a thread with a small loop through the middle.

2.9 Shape the roll into a cone and coat well with glue. Let the glue dry.

2.10 Glue the cap onto the pine cone and you can decorate the piece with liquid glitter that imitates snow.

All that remains is to put all the details together. Place a gift in the package and tie it with a bright ribbon. Hang the pine cone on the loop. You can add a couple of artificial fir branches.

DIY Christmas packaging. Decoration with yarn.

A very simple example of how you can decorate a gift using yarn.

You will need:

Green felt in the shape of a Christmas tree

Wrapping

Decorations to taste

1. Wrap the gift in wrapping paper and tie it with string. Leave a tail about 20 cm long.

2. Cut out a small Christmas tree from green felt. Make a hole in it and thread the yarn through it and tie a knot.

3. Add decorations: glitter, stickers. You can draw or write something yourself on wrapping paper.

Gift wrapping for New Year's gifts. Gift box.

You will need:

Empty box (from shoes, for example)

Wrapping

Scissors

Double tape

Adhesive tape

1. Prepare wrapping paper. It should be larger than the box on all sides. Place the box in the middle of the paper and start making cuts on the paper as shown in the picture, going all the way to the edge of the box.

2. Start wrapping the box by folding the paper inside the box and securing with tape.

3. Repeat the same with the box lid.

4. You wrapped the box, now you need to decorate it. This can be done in many ways and one of them is to use homemade garlands.

You will need:

Thick paper

Scissors

Shaped staplers

Superglue or PVA glue

* Cut out circles, stars and/or other shapes from thick paper. You can use regular staplers to speed up the process.

* Glue all the figures onto the threads as shown in the image. Choose the order of the figures yourself.

*After the glue has dried, wrap the garland around your gift wrap.

DIY packaging (diagram). Simple gift wrapping.

You will need:

Colored thick paper

Decorations to taste.

What kind of paper is needed for the box?

Paper with a thickness of 230 g is ideal for the box. If you choose matte and glossy, I recommend choosing matte. Glossy paper, unfortunately, cracks at bends, this is especially noticeable on colored rather than white paper.

Creasing (working out bends) is best done with a knitting needle, a simple pen refill that no longer writes, or a special bone.

And here is the template for the box for 9 candies.

How to print a box template correctly

In the printer settings, check the box next to “Print with margins.”

There is no need to adjust it to the sheet size; the printer will display a message that part of the image will be cut off - this is normal.

That's all, now click “Print” and get the candy box template printed out.

Attention! These settings are for an inkjet printer.

The size of the box is 11.5x11.5 cm, thickness is about 2 cm. On the templates, dotted lines indicate fold lines.

And one moment. I recommend gluing the cover and side labels with double-sided transparent tape. If you use PVA glue or a glue stick, the paper may ripple, especially if you use regular office paper for labels.

And here are step-by-step instructions on how to glue a box for Bird's Milk candies. The master class was taken from craftswomen Irina.

If you want to add significance to the simplest and smallest gift or souvenir, then you need to pack it in an original way. By making your own packaging, you will put your individuality and creativity into it. Such packaging itself will be a good addition to the gift.
In this master class you will learn how to make a gift box with your own hands using the origami technique. This box is also suitable for valuable gifts, but small in size, such as jewelry or jewelry.

How to make a gift box

So, to make a gift box you will need:
- 2 sheets of colored cardboard (this MK uses double-sided paper with different patterns);
- ruler, pencil, scissors, double-sided tape or glue.

If you don’t have beautiful colored paper, but have the ability to print on a color printer, you can download it on our website. For example, the paper for this master class was printed using the templates found in the topic "". Only registered users can download any files on our forum.

STEP 1. We cut out a square from one sheet of paper and draw two diagonal lines on its inside. Now we bend all four corners towards the middle. Everything needs to be done very carefully, slowly, carefully aligning the corners. I recommend smoothing the paper folds with some smooth flat object. For these purposes, I use a plastic spatula to apply depilatory cream. If you have special tools, that's even better.

STEP 2. We bend all the corners back. Now we bend each corner to the fold line, which runs exactly through the middle of the sides of the square.

Then we make another bend along the finished fold line.

And we make another bend to the diagonal line of the square. Don't forget to smooth out all fold lines. We unbend all this and do the same procedure on each of the remaining sides of the square.

STEP 3. As a result, the front side should look like this: We make cuts on the workpiece along the red lines marked in the photo, but without going beyond the red dots.

This is what the cut sheet looks like from the inside.

STEP 4. We form the sides of the box - fold corners A and B. Do not touch corners C and D for now.

We do the same with the opposite corner B. And then we bend corners C and D inward. To make the box more durable and not “move apart,” we fix the inner sides with glue or double-sided tape.

One part of the box is ready. Let's say this is a lid from a box, but you still need to make the box itself where the gift will lie. You can make another box like this, just reduce the side of the sheet by 1 cm so that the boxes fit freely on top of each other. But here it is worth considering that the second box will be approximately the same height (or maybe even smaller) than the lid. Therefore, I offer you the following option.

Take a second sheet of paper. Now it’s better to make the other side of the paper front so that the box itself and the lid are different as a result. Cut out a square from the sheet, dividing each side into three even parts. Connect the marked points with lines and make fold lines on the inside.

Agree, the anticipation of a gift is no less pleasure than the gift itself! Ah, these sweet moments when you try to guess what is hidden inside an elegant box, impatiently untie the satin ribbons, tear off the crispy paper covers!

But gifts are pleasant not only to unwrap, but also to pack. Buying nice little things for your colleagues in advance, choosing gifts for your closest ones and whileing away the winter evenings by decorating them and signing cards is a sure way to awaken the New Year's mood if it is still dormant!

Masu box

For warm-up, we chose masu bo x - an origami box. You can even roll this up in a taxi on the way to visit: you don’t need any scissors or glue, just a couple of sheets of paper. Moreover, even those whose highest achievement in origami are paper airplanes will master the simple principle of their creation.

Notes and tips:

1. For this box, we chose thick double-sided scrapbooking paper at Leonardo (40 rubles per sheet), but this was a mistake. Firstly, the back of the paper would still end up hidden. Secondly, the paper turned out to be too thick and therefore unsuitable for origami: it did not bend well and cracked at the folds. As a result, we had to roll it from colored paper with a density of 120 g/m2 (10 rubles per A4 sheet), although a thinner one would have worked perfectly.

2. Remember that the base must be smaller than the lid! We decided that if we cut the sheet by three or four millimeters, that would be enough, but in the end, the parts of the box still turned out to be almost the same.

3. You can decorate the box (and at the same time hide extra folds on the lid) using ribbons (a set of five satin ribbons with New Year’s prints cost us about 150 rubles). Tip for perfectionists: to hide the edges, thread them through the slots in the lid (you can easily figure out where to make them) and secure from the inside with a glue stick. Be sure to loosen the tension on the bands a little so that the lid can be bent.

4. For this little experiment, I didn’t want to buy a package of filler for the boxes, so we simply cut the thin craft paper in which the bouquet was once packaged into thin strips. It turned out beautiful and environmentally friendly!

Having warmed up with origami, we decided to make a “pillow box” in which it is very convenient to put candies.

Notes and tips:

1. Before folding the box, crease along the fold lines - push them with a non-writing pen or other thin, but not sharp, object. Without this, it will be almost impossible to bend a sheet of paper along a curve. (In general, we advise you to press through all the places where future folds are made.) And another piece of advice - it’s easier not to print it out, but to draw a diagram of the box yourself. Yes, to draw a line of valves, you will have to use a handy round object, but then it can be used instead of a ruler when creasing, because this cannot be done accurately by hand.

2. The valves on one side can be pierced with a hole punch to insert the ribbon. But we don’t recommend trying to glue them together: it’s almost impossible to press the valves together for the glue to set, and besides, they already stay closed very reliably.

3. For this box we took pastel paper (16 rubles per sheet). The density of 160 g/m2 was perfect for a small box, and the velvety surface recalled the starry sky and inspired decor.

4. To decorate the box the way we did, choose the constellation you like and draw it with a white gel pen (it’s better to do this on an unfolded box). To glue the stars (again favorite “Leonardo”, RUR 72), dip a cone of toothpicks into the glue, make a dot on the paper and attach the star. We used PVA glue, but keep in mind that it does not hold synthetic materials very tightly. Secondary stars can be made from simple small sparkles (they will cost about half as much as curly ones) - also apply glue to the paper and sprinkle some fairy dust on this place.

Envelope

The four-petal envelope is a beautiful, simple package that doesn't even require any glue. It rolls up easily and is great for gift certificates, CDs, pendants and other small items.

Notes and tips:

1. For this packaging we took paper with a density of about 140 g/m2, but we could have chosen thicker paper.

2. The petals can be decorated with sparkles - just run a cotton swab dipped in glue along the cut and dip the paper in them.

3. If your gift is not completely flat, then you can make “walls” a few millimeters high on the box (as in the photo above).

Paper pyramids

And finally, our favorite - paper pyramids! They look great and, despite their apparent fragility, are quite strong. The pattern for creating them is perhaps the most complex, but nothing needs to be glued or intricately bent. This box will perfectly fit a handmade chocolate candy, a flash drive, jewelry, a Christmas tree toy... Anything!

Notes and tips:

1. For the boxes - yay! – the double-sided paper that was purchased for origami was ideal. Pastel also behaved wonderfully.

2. We cut out a snowflake on the red box with a model knife, and so that it would not be visible through it what was hidden inside, we used tracing paper - we cut out a four-pointed star from it according to the size of the box and secured it with a glue stick.

3. It is convenient to make holes for the ribbon tie with a hole punch, but in the absence of one, you can cut it with a paper knife or pierce it with a needle.

P.S.

In the 21st century, it is impossible not to think about saving resources and ethical treatment of nature. If your inner ecologist protests against packaging as a harmful excess, but you still want to please the recipient with a beautiful box or securely wrap a fragile gift, then you can always find a compromise solution. We have already written above that the filler for boxes can be made from old parchment. Think, maybe, instead of origami paper, you can take a beautiful magazine sheet, instead of synthetic glitter, decorate the boxes with your own drawings, and replace satin ribbons with twine or cotton lace.

There are a lot of gift design options, it all depends on your imagination and, believe me, even if it seems to you that you don’t have a single worthwhile idea, they will appear as soon as you pick up paper and scissors and start creating your first homemade box!

Learning new ways to wrap gifts is always helpful, especially around the holidays. A DIY cardboard box can be a great addition to any souvenir. This skill will also be useful in creating new places to store personal items, small items and decorations. You will find a simple method below.

DIY cardboard box

Making a cardboard box with your own hands is not at all difficult, you just need to try at least once to fold everything according to the instructions. To create, you will need any paper, but thick paper will be more durable and suitable for storing things. Stores now sell a large assortment of different types of paper, including incredible colors, so it won’t be difficult to choose something to suit your taste.

Make boxes for cake, for sweets, for flowers, for New Year, Birthday, and for any other holiday, and we will tell you how to make a square or rectangular cardboard box without a lid:

  • Prepare the necessary materials: scissors or a stationery knife, pencil, ruler, stapler or tape, paper.
  • Place the sheet on a flat surface and make a drawing, indicating where the side walls will be and where the end walls will be. Use a ruler to draw even cut lines.
  • Make four equal cuts, one on each side, and following the diagram, fold the structure.
  • Secure the result with a stapler or tape, you can glue it with PVA.
  • You can supplement the box with partitions.

How to make a small cardboard box

A small box made of cardboard with your own hands is made according to exactly the same drawing. The size is determined by you - it can even be very small. The lid is made exactly according to the same scheme, only it should be slightly larger than the box itself. Glue is also perfect for gluing the walls, but you will have to hold the gluing area longer so that the box does not fall apart. Such a cardboard box made of corrugated cardboard will look beautiful.
